The Story of Violet Shift
Violet Shift formed in the summer of 2000 when lead guitarist Dan Weisman recruited cellist Deb Aronin, vocalist Maddy Myers, bassist Preston Decker, and guitarist Cat Porfert to assemble a rock group with a cello. Hiro the little drummer boy joined in the summer of 2001. Back then, the band's members were only incoming high school freshmen. Little did they know that one day, they would be seniors.
Since the seminal summer of 2001, the faces in Violet Shift have changed. Violet Shift is now a four-piece rock band fueled by Dan's rock star ideology, Kayla's quest for true art, Maddy's will to make a recording, and Hiro's lunacy. Having formed a fan base in Natick and havined played extensively at many venues in Newton, the band has come a long way since its conception.
