Location
DCDM-C had organised its quarterly company event at Anse Jonchée (ex Domaine du Chasseur). The site is situated in the South-eastern part of the island (we had to take the new South Eastern Highway to go there).
The Event
The event was itself organised by Vertical World, a highly professional company in this area, with a sympathic, cheerful team. The event was called an orienteering challenge (sort of treasure hunt) where the aim was to look for beacons spread all over the site, and thus win marks. Along with the beacons, we had to solve riddles and overcome challenges to gain further marks.
We started at 10.30 am and had to finish before 4 pm, but our team got a little late (at the canyon, and slingshot).
The challenges
I won't describe all the challenges here, but the best one needs to be mentioned! :-) We had to walk a very very long way, down a sloppy hill, with only a fencing and shrubs to hold ourselves on. Once at the river, we were given life jackets and helmets, and we had to swim down a river or rather kick my way along the river (since I don't know how to swim..). This challenge by itself was worth the day!
Abhi's wedding
After such a tiring day, we still had another crazy night out - to go to Abhi's safran at Flacq! Nisha, Ingrid and myself went to dress up at Preeya's house.
Rainmaker!
And as usual, wherever I go, I bring rain with me; this day also, it was raining all over the island! Even at night when we were going to Abhi's house!
