This is a question frequently asked by most players, from the lowest of newbies to the most experienced veterans. Very few know the answer and even fewer feel confident about it. This has prompted me to create a table that lists all the ways by which you can gain Experience Points (=XP) in StarKnights and also include ways by which you might think you DO earn points, but in reality you don't. Furthermore, I have included the Flight Time needed to carry out certain operations, such as capturing an enemy planet.
| Action Performed | Experience Points Gained (XP) |
Flight Time Cost (FT) |
Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Colonizing a neutral planet | 1 XP per Planet | 0 | This only applies if you are Level 3 or below |
| Capturing an enemy planet | 3 XP per Planet | 15 | Formula: (Planets Captured - Planets Lost) x 3 In short, if you lost more planets that you have gained, then you won't get XP points until you regain (in numbers) the amount of planets you lost |
| Destroying a Ship / Fighter | 2 XP per Ship Class | 20 (per battle) |
Examples: A Mosquito yields 2 x 1 = 2 Points Two DarkMoons yield 10 x 2 = 20 |
| Retreating from battle | 2 XP per Ship Class | 5 (per retreat) |
Any ships you have managed to destroy before retreating will give you XP Note: You can retreat from battle only if you have atleast 5 FT remaining |
| Killing a Player (Human and A.I.) |
10 XP per Player Level | 0 | Example: Killing a Level 10 player yields 10 x 10 = 100 Points |
| Winning a Game | 0 XP (!) | 0 (Duh!) | It's sad but true |
