MK World
(Sponsored by nMKo)

Welcome to the MK World. A section related to various events taking place in the MK community and the game itself. This is more like a column, recording various events. If you have any suggestions as to the content of this page and in general the website itself as a whole or anything you would like to see, then drop me a line.

[Latest Gossip] [May 2004] [March 2004] [February 2004] - [2003]

Feb 25, 2004:Here's a piece of news that nobody is going to believe. The LuGenKar Tournament has finally ended! The inauguration of the first King of MK has just taken place. Already sitting comfortably on his throne is Cozaar and he now bares the crown icon next to his name, making him the first King of MK, while Gro-Bhaal One was the runner-up and bares the Knight's Helmet. Last but not least, Norman is wearing the Jester's Hat for having achieved the highest negative score in the first round of the tournament.

Skyven has already been notified of the results. There are ofcourse plans for Lugenkar II, but some proper planning will be done based on the experiences of what we got right and wrong from other tournaments to ensure the next installment is as smooth-going as it can possibly be. Anyone who has ever hosted an MK tournament, will tell you that even the best of tournaments always run into problems and that running a tournament is easier said than done. One of the reasons why so few of them ever get to finish.
Feb 25, 2004:This is one of the funniest Flame Forum Threads in ages. Dabasher reminded us why he and his tantrums resemble an angry chihuahua. It's amazing how easily he got sucked into Genoa's bait. Sensitive about our weight, are we? And all because of some 12 year old spammer who used wrestling terminology as a basis for a (f)lame joke.
Feb 25, 2004:Unless you live in a cave, or even if you do, then you should be aware by now that we have been invaded by Luhar's Admirers yet again. The last time the We-love-Luhar Club had showed up, was in a momentus time, when Luhar's attempts to take over a kiddie forum backfired, as his unique ID led them straight back to our lair (the flame forum), whereby we were haunted by dirty diapers for weeks on end. Well, after a period of absence, they are back. As a result, Luhar's bounty has now gone up. Anyone with details of his whereabouts or information that will lead to his arrest will be rewarded with a song (CottonEyeJoe) from the RedNecks-R-US trio, Ron "the Ruler" BadAss, Ice "the refrigerator" 600 and Strategien "the dirty bam" Trailor.
Feb 25, 2004:Unified behind one common cause? You would think the invasion of kindergarden refugees would unite the MK Community. Not in a million years. Even now, the MK community are taking shots at each other instead. So, the "unite against a common enemy" notion, simply does not apply here.
Feb 25, 2004:Laserman's website no longer works as it pings the old server locations. There is hope though, as Black Adder is working on his own MK Info Centre, currently heavily under construction.
Feb 25, 2004:Ronin's death came as a shock to the whole MK Community. The news was announced by his younger brother catching some people in disbelief while others had already paid their condolences via Wef's BBS. Two days later, he was ressurected and calls have already been made to change his name into Lazarus. Quite a few people were not surprised by this ... stunt. Meanwhile, my pet flea died just yesterday. It's believed it was trying to hop onto Sindre's hair, but it turned out it was a wig.
Feb 25, 2004:There's an uneasy allianceAren't they cute? between Azeitona and Daemonknight, as the latter has recruited the former into his Fluffy Bunnies Alliance. We were fortunate enough to capture both in a rare picture seen celebrating together after an allied victory.
Feb 25, 2004:In a rare incident, we witnessed Mysti and BlackAdder having a... disagreement about their olympic game (Anzacs vs Belgium & Netherlands). Mysti rarely if ever shows her teeth, but on this occasion, the fight soon spiralled out of control and resulted into a handbag fight, that not even Blue Warrior would ever dare trying to get in the middle of.

Feb 25, 2004:This is probably the oldest issue in MK. Do you have a problem with a game or the server? Then send Skyven an email! Do not expect him to be a mindreader and do not expect him to be reading the forums. Skyven rarely visits the forums and when he does, it's usually because of a request. Yes, DO post it on the BBS as some of the problems can usually be solved by other players, but do not whine that Skyven hasn't replied/reacted to it, if you haven't sent him an email and if a sensible amount of time has not elapsed (several days atleast).

In addition, to put things into perspective, what is the real situation? Skyven has a real job. MK is a side-project that chews up his free (personal) time and costs him money. We paid him a one-time fee a long long time ago and that money has probably already been used up to maintain the ISP(servers). Yes, we should have expectations but we should also be perhaps a bit more patient, afterall he has stuck with us for so many years and has not abandoned his game or us. Skyven has three emails oriented towards his games, two for MK and one for SK:
  • skyven@knightsoft.ca
  • skyven@metalknights.com
  • skyven@starknights.com

As I said, do give him a few days to get back to you.
Feb 25, 2004:It has been a while since the time I last updated the page. So long in fact that we missed the gift Cookie received for Christmas. Her mother had given her a pistol. The way the events have unfolded are illustrated further below, as pictures speak louder than words.

Cookie was always held at gun point by Ice
Before Xmas

Now the tables were turned.
After Xmas

Ice ran out of the house but as he was fleeing...
Aim and Shoot

Cookie's secret shooting lessons had paid off.
Who gets the last laugh
