| Genie: | What's up? :) Havent seen you around for a while. |
| Yllknowme: | For years I would say :-) How are you and how can I help you? |
| Genie: | I'm fine. What happened to you? :) You have truely disappeared off the face of the earth! You got a few minutes to spare? i'm doing interviews about MK. |
| Yllknowme: | I have some minutes. |
| Genie: | I already did a few interviews, SuperCosmo, Xanthus, Tarantino. You are one of my next... victims. ;) |
| Yllknowme: | As long as I can remember what you are talking about :-) |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) Where have you been all this time then? |
| Yllknowme: | Always been here, but not playing (any MK) at all. |
| Genie: | You gave up on MK for good eh? Beat the habit? |
| Yllknowme: | I think I did! I was studying back at the time and didnt really like it. |
| Genie: | Any chance we'll see you back even for a few games? |
| Yllknowme: | Mmmh, I wonder, IŽd like to but it's more like work then fun for me now. |
| Genie: | You dont need to play a lot of games. I only play 1-2 games at a time. I'll get us started with the interview... :) What is your real name? |
| Yllknowme: | If I do something I always do it very intense. Il mio nome: karl |
| Genie: | What is your date of birth? |
| Yllknowme: | 25.10.1977 |
| Genie: | Where do you come from? |
| Yllknowme: | Vienna in Austria. |
| Genie: | Where do you currently live in? |
| Yllknowme: | In Vienna |
| Genie: | When did you first start playing MK? |
| Yllknowme: | 1998 I think. |
| Genie: | Tell us a little bit on how you found out about MK. |
| Yllknowme: | A friend of mine started to play MK and got me interested. |
| Genie: | Who was that friend? :) |
| Yllknowme: | His MK name was x4fun. |
| Genie: | Yeah, I remember him :) What are your MK aliases? |
| Yllknowme: | Yllknowme and karlip. |
| Genie: | You played for quite a while as unreg, is that right? |
| Yllknowme: | Yes, with karlip. |
| Genie: | You actually did pretty well with karlip. Much better than some of the registered players do. |
| Yllknowme: | I think I managed to get upto Colonel as unreg on the KS server. |
| Genie: | Which is the highest rank and HOF position you ever reached in MK and on which server? |
| Yllknowme: | Which are the ranks? I dont really remember, I think if you tell them to me I could remember. |
| Genie: | Metalknight, Marshal, General, Lt General, Colonel etc :) |
| Yllknowme: | General it was. I think on both, the KS and MK servers. |
| Genie: | Do you aspire to ever become the MK on any of the servers? |
| Yllknowme: | No. |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) Which Alliances have you been part of, over the years? |
| Yllknowme: | Legion of Loyalty and hmmm, how was the other called...? |
| Genie: | La La Land Strikers? Wise Men? |
| Yllknowme: | Wise Men! Yup, that was mine :-) |
| Genie: | You had created both, right? |
| Yllknowme: | No, if I remember correctly, Legion of Loyalty was founded by someone else, x4fun took it over and then I did. |
| Genie: | Since then, you and X4fun were a duo for a very long time. Previously , you said he brought you to the game. Was he the guy who showed you the ropes? :) |
| Yllknowme: | Hmmm, I think it's a pretty easy game that you dont need someone to show you. But since the game is quite easy, it's pretty difficult to become better than the rest. |
| Genie: | I asked that on purpose, as you had become a much better player than x4fun. I was aiming for the student beats teacher line. ;) |
| Yllknowme: | I think I'd already won the first game that we played against each other. He was really good, though he would always forget something. :-) |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) Such as ? |
| Yllknowme: | Putting porcs in his base :-) The most common mistake in MK. |
| Genie: | LOL. Any fond memories of the alliances you've been with? |
| Yllknowme: | I founded the alliance (Wise Men) with just average players. No-one in my alliance had a chance of winning a single game against me. We managed to become one of the best teams in MK and the players reached the rank of general. Jocke is an example. |
| Genie: | Average players can be good if led by the right person and if the alliance works as a team. :) |
| Yllknowme: | I think so too. I remember a game, I think you where in it too. With Juggernault and other top players. It was a 2x5, do you remember? |
| Genie: | There was an HoP vs Wise Men game on mk.com on Eden. |
| Yllknowme: | I have the same memories that all of the better mk players have. Sleepless nights, endless icq strategy talks, phones ringing late at night to wake you up. :-) |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) What is it about MK, that makes you like it so much? |
| Yllknowme: | The coming together part of the alliances; and you get to know your opponent really good within a game, better than in real time strategy games. |
| Genie: | Basically the fact that you can put a name on your victim.. :) Is that correct? |
| Yllknowme: | Yeah, but also the fact that you start talking in most of the games with your opponents, exchange tips and tricks (if someone is really bad but you want to help him :-) ) and so on. |
| Genie: | Which memory of MK will you never forget? |
| Yllknowme: | The stress with my girlfriend at that time, when I once slept at her appartment and at 3 am, x4fun called me on my cell phone to wake me up and I had to connect to the internet and she woke up since the modem made too much noise. :-) |
| Genie: | LOL. What happened after that? |
| Yllknowme: | I dont think I will tell you ;-) |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) If MK II comes out in the next couple of years, would you play it? |
| Yllknowme: | No. |
| Genie: | (*laughs*) You are out of the MK realm for good eh? |
| Yllknowme: | Yes, I am. I dont play any games except playstation with friends sometimes. No time really. |
| Genie: | Before we conclude the interview, is there anything else you would like to add? |
| Yllknowme: | Nope. |
