MK Combat Advisor (JAVA) - version 1.4 MK Combat Advisor (JAVA) - version 1.4 |
[Windows9x/ME] [Windows NT/2k/XP] All the programs that are written in JAVA require a JAVA Run-time Enviroment(JRE) installed on your computer in order to run! Once you have successfully installed a JRE on your computer, you MUST add the following line in your autoexec.bat, so that the JAVA commands are recognized in the whole of your computer: SET PATH=C:\'my path'\BIN;%PATH% where 'my path' is the PATH you have chosen to install it. An easy way to know you got it right, is to find the folder where JAVA.exe is located and copy that path. Any changes made to the autoexec.bat require a restart in order to take effect. NOTE: Do not install the JRE in the "Program Files" directory!!! [Windows9x/ME] [Windows NT/2k/XP] If you are running NT4, Win2k or WinXP you will have to change the path from the control panel:
Example(I:\MsSDK\ was already there): I:\MsSDK\;C:\Java\j2re-1_4_1_02-windows-i586-i\BIN\ NOTE: Do not install the JRE in the "Program Files" directory!!! |
| MK Combat Advisor (C++) - version 0.94 |
Unlike the JAVA version, this does not require any pre-installation of other programs in order to run, since executable files(.exe) can be run straight away. If you have any specific problems that its readme file cannot answer, drop me a line.

| SK Efficiency Advisor (JAVA) - version 0.91 |
Similarly to the MKCA (JAVA version), the SK Efficiency Advisor, requires a JRE pre-installed on your computer. The instructions are the same as the MK Combat Advisor (JAVA).

| MK Map Checker | Laserman's MK Map Checker. An excellent program that checks your Maps for Transition Errors. There is no installation necessary. Just extract the 3 files and put them in the MK directory. To check a map just start the program and open a map. You will then automatically get a list with all the errors (if there are any). | MK MetalSpy (VBasic) - version 1.02 |
Setup will check to see if your machine has the latest versions of some Windows DLL's. It might pop up a message saying something like "Setup cannot continue... etc ... system files out of date. Would you like setup to update those files?" Click Yes, then click Yes again when it asks you to reboot. When your machine's back up, restart the setup program.
Once MetalSpy is installed and you defaulted through the options, you should have a new program group called "NeverEnding Software" under Start|Programs. In this group is the shortcut to MetalSpy. Click it and MetalSpy will quietly park itself in the System Tray of your Start Bar. You should now see an evil-looking eye icon there. To bring up the main window, double-click this icon. Click the Update button and a list of your games will magically appear. Pretty cool, huh? The rest is pretty self-explanatory. Check the help file for more information on using MetalSpy.
